The main objective: To work with the situation of orphaned children, due to the effects of poverty, abuse and alcoholism, by
providing care and nurturing with a view to compensating the parental love and genuine interest that they have been deprived.

Qualifications: No special qualifications required - everybody can help out.

Responsibilities: Volunteers work alongside the existing staff to care for the children in different orphanages across the country.
The work in a children’s home involves feeding, dressing and keeping the children active within the homes. Depending on
individual skills and interests, volunteers act as mentors, help children with their homework, and teach English. However, l ove and
support are the most important elements for these disadvantaged children. Other tasks are to clean and organize the homes as
well as cooking.

Orientation & Training: All volunteers will receive a general orientation on the nature and purpose of the organization, an
orientation on the nature and operation of the program or activity for which they are recruited, and a specific orientation on the
purposes and requirements of the position that they are accepting. In addition, Volunteers will receive specific on-the-job
training to provide them with the information and skills necessary to perform their volunteer assignment.

Commitment: The volunteer experience is a commitment that includes a willingness to overcome challenges of various sorts. In
cases where volunteers are experiencing difficulties, we strongly encourage creative and collaborative solutions.
